Trachoma Control Program in Amhara Region, Ethiopia, improved surgery, antibiotics, facial cleanliness, and environmental improvement (SAFE) strategy in all districts starting in 2007. Despite these efforts, many districts still requires an additional year of AMAN.

With different endemicity selected districts, where one has trachomatous inflammation-follicular (TF) previous prevalence> 30% (Andabet), one has a prevalence of between 10% and 29.9% (Dera), one has a prevalence of between 5% and 10% (Woreta city), and one had a prevalence of previous TF <5% (Alefa) and did not receive antibiotics during the 2-year intervention. the survey team rated clinical signs of trachoma and take a swab of the conjunctiva and dried blood spots (DBS) for the size of the infection and the antibody response.

Here, we calculated the level of SARS-CoV-2-reactive antibodies and hCoV-reactive antibodies in serum samples collected from 204 humans before COVID 19th pandemic. We pre-pandemic antibody levels were then measured in serum from a separate cohort of 252 individuals who became PCR-confirmed infected with SARS-CoV-2.
Finally, we measured antibodies longitudinal hCoV and SARS-CoV-2 in serum were hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Our study shows that most people have hCoV-reactive antibodies before COVID 19th pandemic.

In clinical trials, P. vivax merozoites surface protein 1 (PvMSP1-19) vaccine candidate alone has been shown to have limited immunogenicity in patients, then we combine highly conserved and immunogenic C-terminus of the protein surface P. vivax merozoites 8 (PvMSP8) and PvMSP1-19 to develop multicomponent rPvMSP8 chimeric protein + 1 for immunization into mice.
RPvMSP8 + 1 resulting chimeric antibody was shown to recognize the native protein and MSP1-19 MSP8 mature schizonts of P. vivax. In mice immunized, increased antibody responses observed in the group rPvMSP8 + 1-immunized compared to those immunized with a single antigen component.
In addition, we examine the growth inhibition of antibodies against P. cynomolgi (Berok strain) parasites, which are phylogenetically close to P. vivax and sustain long-term culture in vitro Similarly, a chimeric anti-rPvMSP8 + 1 antibody recognizes P. cynomolgi MSP8 and MSP1 -19 on the schizonts matured, and showed a strong inhibition in vitro by growth inhibition assay.

Description: Human Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is encoded by the IL17A gene located on the chromosome 6 and belongs to the IL-17 family that contains IL-17A, IL-17B, IL-17C, IL-17D, IL-17E and IL-17F. Description: The IL-17 family is comprised of at least six proinflammatory cytokines that share a conserved cysteine-knot structure but diverge at the N-terminus. IL-17 family members are glycoproteins secreted as dimers that induce local cytokine production and recruit granulocytes to sites of inflammation. IL-17 is induced by IL-15 and IL-23, mainly in activated CD4+ T cells distinct from Th1 or Th2 cells. IL-17F is the most homologous to IL-17, but is induced only by IL-23 in activated monocytes. IL-17B binds the IL-17B receptor, but not the IL-17 receptor; it is most homologous with IL-17D, which is expressed by resting CD4+ T cells and CD19+ B cells. IL-17E is mainly produced by Th2 cells and recruits eosinophils to lung tissue. IL-17C has a very restricted expression pattern but has been detected in adult prostate and fetal kidney libraries. |
